The Department of Commerce & Management Studies is one of the pioneering Departments at The Elegant Arts and Science College. Our department offers two UG Programmes :B.Com and BBA.
The B.Com program was started with the objective of introducing an innovative and modern curriculum , maintaining academic discipline and imparting holistic education .The department aims at maintaining academic excellence and equipping students with the skills necessary to face the challenges of the business world. The department of commerce and Management offers an undergraduate course with wide specialisation to commerce which include management accounting , Economics , Mathematics , Corporate law etc .The syllabus structured leads the students aspiring for higher professional degree namely CA , CMA, ACCA, CIMA, MBA, M.com etc.
Business Administration courses, having focus on fundamentals, significant discipline level courses and ample electives both from the disciplines and cross disciplines including emerging areas all within a cumulative structure of 120-160 credits. Summer Internships have been embedded to make the student understand the industry requirements and have hands on experience. These programs are meticulously crafted to meet the demands of the modern business world, integrating theoretical knowledge with practical application. As a major initiative by AICTE, a three-week mandatory induction program for students has also been designed and has to be given at the beginning of the course. The idea behind this is to make the students feel comfortable in their new environ-ment, open them up, set a healthy daily routine, develop awareness, sensitivity and understanding of the self, people around them, society at large, and nature.
About the Course
BBA (AICTE Approved) - Honours Degree Programme with 8 semesters that follows the syllabus designed by University of Calicut under Four year Under Graduate Program(FYUGP) for undergraduate curriculum.The BBA curriculum encompasses a total of 120 credits for the 3-year program and 160 credits for the 4-year (Honours and Honours with Research) programs. It includes a balanced mix of Humanities & Social Science Courses, Management Courses, Pro-gram Core and Elective Courses, Open Electives, and a significant emphasis on hands-on learning through Projects, Seminars, and Internships.The detailed syllabus of the course is available on the official website of the University of Calicut.
