Computer science is a broad field that draws its foundation from a number of disciplines, requiring students to utilize concepts from different fields. At the core of our curriculum, students must learn to integrate computer science theory with practice. In a field that evolves as rapidly as computer science, the Department of Computer Science focuses on preparing students for long term learning that enables them to not only understand today’s technologies, but also understand how to tackle challenges of the future.

About the Course

B.Sc. Computer Science - is a 4 year graduation programme with eight semesters that follows the syllabus designed by University of Calicut under Four Year UnderGraduate Programme (FYUGP) for undergraduate curriculum. Along with the major course in Computer Science, the program also considers three pathways which includes I) Three year UG programme (minimum 133 credit) II) Four Year UG honours programme (minimum 177 credit) III) Four year UG honours with research programme (minimum 177 credit). The course also includes Ability Enhancement Courses (AEC), Multi-Disciplinary Courses (MDC), Value-Added Courses (VAC), Skill Enhancement Courses (SEC) and different minor courses. The 7 th and 8 th semesters are solely concentrated on B.Sc. Computer Science Honours degree programme and Research. BCA(AICTE approved) Honors degree program with 8 semesters that follows the syllabus designed by university of Calicutunder Four Year UnderGraduation Program (FYUGP) for undergraduate curriculum.The BCA curriculum encompasses a total of 133 credits for the three-year programme and 177 credits for the four year(Honors and Honors with research) programs.It include mix of ability enhancement courses, multidisciplinary courses ,skill enhancement courses, major courses elective courses and significant emphasis of hands on learning through project, seminar and internship .The detailed syllabus of the courses is available on the official website of University of Calicut. B Sc Computer Science Honours degree program with eight semester that follows the syllabus designed by university of Calicut under four year undergraduate program for undergraduate curriculum along with the major course become the program also considering pathway which include three-year UG program minimum 133credits . II four year UG program minimum 177 credit . III 4 year UG owners with research program minimum 177 credit the course also includes Ability enhancement course (AEC), multidisciplinary course( MDC), valued added course (VAC ),Skill and Enhancement Courses (SEC) and different minor courses the 7th and 8th semester as only concentrated on BSc Computer Science honours degree program and research .The detailed syllabus of the course is available on the official website of the University of Calicut .
